The Journey Begins

Well this is my first post!! And I guess it should be a little bit about what I would like this blog to be...
I've been on quite a journey for almost two years now... In August 2013 my husband was in a cycling accident and passed away. I suddenly found myself in a place I'd never thought I'd be and with a young family to look after went immediately into autopilot.  Needless to say there have been many ups and downs over the past couple of years and the children have been a blessing.  One of my other saviours has been crafts... Within days of the accident the Cornwall Adult Education brochure came through the door, and without much thought I placed it on the growing pile of paperwork that I now needed to deal with.  With the support and help of family and friends we worked through the tasks that needed to be done and focused on practical matters. However I knew that these things, once completed, would no longer be a source of my distraction. So I turned back to this brochure and pretty much enrolled in anything that took my fancy, mostly fused glass and other skills used to make jewellery.  I'd never made jewellery before, and didn't even know what fused glass was! It just sounded fun.  It turned out to be much more than that.  My first classes were fused glass.  Once a week I got to go somewhere where no-one knew what had happened, it felt freeing.  I soon feel in love with working with glass and looked forward to the classes. I still attend these classes now and love how there is still so much more to learn. I have also been to other classes to learn wirework and other jewellery making techniques and skills.  I also attended some taster sessions for Silver Metal Clay and fell in love again.. I am currently on a 10 week course working with this magical medium.
Anyway, back to what I hope to achieve with this blog... I want to share my journey of creation and hopefully inspire the artist within us all to go learn something new and create.  I am also a complimentary therapist and work with the energy systems of the body, through Usui Reiki, Crystals, Sound, EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique) and Flower & Vibrational Essences. I am now at a point where I want to combine my love of energy work and creating beautiful things so that positive and loving energy can be found not only in a treatment room, but also in what I make with my hands.  I am inspired by nature and the beauty around us and I hope that you enjoy sharing my journey with me.

Big Loves
